The entry fee is $400 per team, which includes access to all tournament activities and the opportunity to make a positive impact in our local community.
Inshore Fishing Competition: Teams can leave from any location starting Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 6AM to 3PM.
Fish Submission: Saturday, May 30, 2026 | 3PM SHARP
Awards Reception: Saturday, May 30, 2026 | 4PM at Whiskey Joe’s
Inshore Slam: Catch one of each eligible species — Snook, Redfish, & Trout — to qualify for the ultimate all-around angler challenge.
Redfish: Longest verified Redfish caught during tournament hours.
Snook: Longest verified Snook caught during tournament hours.
Trout: Longest verified Trout caught during tournament hours.

Tournament Rules & Regulations
The following rules and regulations govern participation in the Casting for a Cause Fishing Classic. All anglers are responsible for reading and complying with these rules. Tournament officials reserve the right to interpret, modify, or enforce rules as necessary to ensure fairness, safety, and sportsmanship.
Tournament officials reserve the right to amend rules at any time. Any changes will be communicated during the Captains’ Dinner. The goal of Casting for a Cause is to promote conservation, fair competition, and community impact. Thank you for fishing responsibly and supporting EmpowHERment.
1. Eligibility
- Open to all anglers with a valid Florida saltwater fishing license.
- Open to teams of up to four anglers.
- All participants must be registered and have paid the entry fee prior to the start of the tournament.
2. Mandatory Captains Dinner & Kickoff Event: Friday 6pm at Whiskey Joe’s
- At least one member of team must check-in at the Captains Dinner on Friday, May 29th from 6-7pm.
- Official Bait Buckets will be issued to each team at the Kickoff event.
3. Permitted Species
- Target species: Redfish, Snook, and Spotted Seatrout.
- Each angler/team may submit one fish per species for scoring.
4. Fishing Boundaries
- All fishing is designated inshore from the mouth of the Homosassa River to the mouth of Tampa Bay.
- No fishing beyond the marked boundaries (no offshore or federal waters).
5. Gear & Methods
- Artificial lures and live bait allowed.
- Rod and reel only; no nets for catching fish (except landing nets).
- No spearfishing or snagging.
- Cast nets may be used to catch bait prior to tournament.
6. Scoring
- Total length of fish submitted determines the winner
- Tie-breaker: earliest check-in time.
- Teams will compete for $5,500 in prizes, awards, and recognition.
- Scoring is based on the total length of eligible fish caught and measured by the nearest ¼ inch using the official tournament ruler.
7. Picture “Weigh-In”
- All catches must be submitted to official WhatsApp photo link.
- Use official tournament ruler in each photo.
- To authenticate photos, include official marker/mystery item in every submission.
- Nose of fish on zero of official ruler.
- Use rubber band provided to pinch tail of fish.
- Belly of fish toward angler.
- No hands in photos.
- Late submissions will not be accepted, no submissions after 3pm.
8. Sportsmanship
- All participants are expected to display good sportsmanship and abide by tournament rules.
- Any violation may result in disqualification.
9. Safety
- All anglers must wear life jackets while on the water.
- Teams are responsible for their own safety and must comply with all local boating and fishing regulations.
10. Disputes
- Any disputes or rule clarifications will be resolved by the tournament committee, whose decision is final.
11. Disqualification
- Improper photo submission.
- Fishing boundary Violation.
- Zero Tolerance for Unethical, Deceptive or Fraudulent conduct.
- Late arrival to Awards Ceremony will be disqualified.
